The season of marshmallow glory has arrived yet again.
Ladies and gentlemen, start your glue guns, because entries are being sought for that annual rite of spring, the Pioneer Press Marshmallow Peeps Diorama contest.
Now in its 10th year, our contest, the first newspaper-sponsored Peeps diorama contest in the country, has inspired hundreds of people worldwide to invoke their corn syrup muse and create art out of squishy chick- and bunny-shaped candy.
Here again is our challenge to you:
-- Make a diorama of any size or a video of 2 minutes or less featuring Marshmallow Peeps.
-- Upload a photo of the diorama or the video here.
-- Include the name, age, address and phone number of the creator or creators, plus any comments or information or artist's statement you wish to share.
-- The deadline for entry is 5 p.m. March 20. There's no limit on the number of entries per person or group. And there's no entry fee this year.
Winners will be chosen by a team of judges at the Pioneer Press.
Prizes
First-, second- and third-place winners in the diorama and video categories will receive gift baskets filled with Peeps merchandise supplied by Peeps and company. There also will be a gift basket for the winner of a people's choice vote online. Plus, winners and runners-up will receive the traditional Pioneer Press Marshmallow Peeps Diorama Contest prize: a toothbrush.
Winners
Results and photos of the winning entries will be displayed in the March 31 Easter Sunday edition of the Pioneer Press and on TwinCities.com.
